Endovascular therapy

In August 2006 dr. Joost de Vries, vascular neurosurgeon of the Neurosurgical Center Nijmegen, became the first Dutch neurosurgeon to succesfully coilembolize a cerebral aneurysm in a 64-year-old female. Dr. de Vries was trained in endovascular therapy at the Karolinska Institute at Stockholm, Sweden. Endovascular therapy has now become a part of routine patient care in our neurosurgical center.
