Research Intern new neuro-imaging techniques of the conus medullaris

For our research project about spinal cord Injury, we are looking for an enthusiast medical or biomedical student with interest in neuro-anatomy. Using DTI tractography and Polarized Light Imaging (PLI) this project aims to map the neural networks which are involved in mobility.
For this project, we are looking for an enthusiastic (international) undergraduate or graduate student (preferably with MatLab experience) to work with our team.
We provide an excellent opportunity to participate in our ongoing research projects and to obtain various research skills. This internship will take place at the Anatomy Department (dr. A. van Cappellen van Walsum) and Department of Neurosurgery (E. Kurt, MD and E. Brouwers MPA) at the Radboud University Medical Center.

Start and duration: February/March 2018, 3-6 months fulltime.

Activities:
– Prepare slices for PLI technique
– Apply PLI technique
– Perform DTI analysis
– Contribute to scientific article and co-authorship
